Stinky Cast (by Luke)

This is what the little guy looked like in his cast a week later. The 2nd diaper is there on top to help hold his 1st diaper underneath in place. He is a little trooper and the way he moves around you hardly notice he has it, except that when he rolls it takes up a little more space. It's only been a week, but that cast sure does stink already.

We said goodbye to Janna's mom last night and welcomed my mom late last night. We sure love having them here and appreciate all of their help with the house and boys. I am back at work today, no longer contagious. I'm not 100% yet, but surviving.

I was surprised to find out today that I am moving to a new project. It comes as a good surprise though as the work here has really slowed down. The job is a 3 story U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Building for the United States Government, and it is actually closer to our house. It will cut my commute in the morning from about 16 minutes down to 8. They just started scratching the dirt on it so I will be able to be there from the start. Unfortunately I am the only engineer on the project, at least for now, so I will be learning a lot as I go. I am going over with the two best guys I work with every day, so that will be helpful. We were going to just be there for a few weeks but now that may be longer. We are probably going to do most of the concrete work, including the flatwork, and that will lengthen our stay to about 40 weeks (10 months). On Friday my Christmas, Anniversary, New Year's, Valentine's, etc. present came in the form of my new custom, hand-built, White's Lace-to-Toe Smokejumper boots. They are work boots and I will be spending about 12 hours a day in them 5-6 days a week, so I had to get the best of the best.

Luke,

I love the new boots. There isn't a better boot out there. Sorry to hear about everything that has taken place. If there is anything we can do to help out, just call. I will be back in town tomorrow.
